| You need a box of Borax & a box of Washing Soda |
 |
| You need a 5 gallon bucket - try to get one with a lid - they were out, so I've used Glad Press & Seal to cover mine. We'll see how that works out once I have to move this bucket from the middle of my kitchen! = |
 |
I used a bar of Fels-Naptha soap - grate over a piece of wax paper laying on your counter. I tried grating into a bowl first - it slipped off the counter and landed on my Sheltie. She wasn't very happy to have soap shavings in her fur - but she smelled better, so it all worked out. =)

Add 4 cups of water to a larger pan on the stove.
|
 |
| Slowly add your grated soap to you water which should be on medium heat. Wisk to disolve. |
 |
Once the grated soap is dissolved, add it to your 5gal bucket that is already filled 3/4 way with warm water.
Add 1 cup Borax and 1 cup Washing Soda. Wisk it all together until dissolved.
Cover with lid and let sit over night. You can use as is. For regular washers use 1/2 cup, for HE washers use 1/4 cup. I'll post a picture tomorrow of it set up.
SEEMS I MISSED THIS INFORMATION!! *L* OH MY!!
Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use.
tips: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.
Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
Top Load Machine- 5/8 Cup per load (Approx. 180 loads)

640 LOADS?! |
So, now I have 10 gallons of laundry detergent and I am going to have to either give this stuff away or start doing people's laundry. Good gravy!
